Segob asks the Chihuahua government to reveal the names of prisoners for their transfer to federal prisons

The Secretary of the Interior, Adam Augusto Lopez Hernandezsaid that although the government of Chihuahua requested the transfer of highly dangerous inmates from the Center for Social Reintegration (Cereso) 3 of Juarez City to federal facilities, this can only be possible if the local government makes the request in writing and discloses the names of the inmates subject to transfer.

In the morning, the Chihuahua prosecutor, Roberto Fierro Duarte, indicated that prior to the riot and escape of 30 prisoners from Cereso 3, last Sunday, the state government requested the federation the transfer of inmates, including Ernesto Alfredo Piñón de la Cruz, “El Neto”, leader of the Los Mexicles criminal group, and who was one of the escapees. The prosecutor affirmed that it was not possible to give the Federation the names of the prisoners subject to transfer to avoid leaks and the filing of protections that would delay the event.

“This transfer cannot be carried out in violation of the provisions, laws and agreements on the matter, so it can only and exclusively take place if the Chihuahua government authorities request it officially and in writing, disclosing the identity and procedural status of said persons deprived of liberty confined in the Social Reintegration Center number 3, from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Cereso number 3 is subject to the legal provisions of the common jurisdiction of the state of Chihuahua”, said the head of the Segob.
