Lebanese customs seized 5 million pills of the drug “Captagon” in the port of Beirut that were smuggled into Saudi Arabia via Greece, according to “AFP”.
A customs official, who preferred to remain anonymous, said, “Based on prior information, the drug department in the customs monitored the shipment, and when it arrived at the port, customs agents searched it to discover that there were 5 million Captagon pills in a machine for making tiles.”
He pointed out that “3 Lebanese were arrested working within a network linked to drug trafficking.”
He pointed out that the shipment was on its way to Greece and from there to Saudi Arabia.
Captagon is an easy-to-manufacture drug that is cheaply sold in the market, and some see it as a cheap alternative to cocaine.
