With a 2024 season to forget in the books, Aaron Rodgers’ football future remains unclear.
But before he decides on whether he’ll return for a 21st season in the NFL, the four-time MVP finds himself focused on Robert F. Kennedy’s upcoming confirmation hearing.
A former third-party candidate who reportedly considered making Rodgers his running mate, Kennedy is currently preparing to face congress as he seeks to be confirmed for his nominated role as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services in President Elect Donald Trump’s administration. But while RFK Jr. is undoubtedly a polarizing candidate for the position, his close friend has already warned any senator who may try to test the anti-vaccine activist during his upcoming hearing.
“I want to watch his confirmation hearing and just see who tries to f**k with him,” Rodgers said of Kennedy during Thursday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show. “Like please, somebody try to get after him and just watch him absolutely mop the floor with any of these senators. You better come ready, senators. Come ready and try and see if you can pull one over on my boy, Bobby. Because Bobby’s a f**king smart dude. And no notes, off the cuff and can handle his own pretty well.”
The 10-time Pro Bowl selection proceeded to laud Kennedy’s efforts to “Make America Healthy Again,” noting the FDA’s recent decision to ban Red dye No. 3.
“If you spend a minute researching ingredients in products in the states compared to overseas, it’s disgusting,” Rodgers said. “It’s disgusting what they allow here, the levels that they allow here, products that are terrible for you, products they know are carcinogenic. So, he’s doing a service to everybody if you just let him and get the hell out of the way and stop trying to label him as whatever the f**k they want to label him these days.
“He just wants to make sure that everything that’s being given to our kids is safe, everything that we’re ingesting on a day-to-day basis is safe. And he’s going to ‘Make America Healthy Again’ or is going to freaking die trying. Wouldn’t you want that?”
While senate confirmations are currently underway, a date for Kennedy’s hearing has yet to be announced. But whenever it is, Rodgers — and many others — will be watching, as plenty of senators will surely take the New York Jets quarterback up on his challenge.
