In compliance with two administrative court orders, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) suspended the implementation, scheduled to start on the 29th in 960 public schools in the country, of the pilot program of the new Study Plan for preschool, primary and secondary education. .
The head of the unit, Leticia Ramírez Amaya, reported that “temporarily and in respect of the rule of law, the aforementioned program will not be applied,” without the decision “representing the resignation of the SEP to the corresponding legal defense.”
Through a press release, it was detailed that the official informed that “the unit will continue, in a timely and relevant manner, the amparo trials promoted against the fourth transitory article of Agreement 08/14/22 published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF )”.
As well as that “the SEP filed the resources provided for in the law, of which a prompt resolution is expected in favor of the best interests of children and adolescents in the country, which will be timely knowledge of all educational authorities.”
During the national meeting of state educational authorities, held virtually last Tuesday, he adds, Ramírez Amaya “specified that, although the pilot program is temporarily suspended, continuous training for teachers” on said curriculum “will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the 2022-2023 School Calendar”.
Amparos
It should be remembered that since last day 2, the national movement Educación con Rumbo reported that the Sixth District Court in Administrative Matters in Mexico City granted the provisional suspension derived from the amparo that it promoted, filed under file 1457/2022.
Later, the Eighth District Judge in Administrative Matters ordered the indefinite suspension of the pilot program when resolving another amparo promoted by the same civil association
Paulina Amozurrutia, national coordinator of Education with Rumbo, reported via Twitter that since the first provisional suspension, the decision of the Judiciary forces the authorities to rethink the country’s educational policy.
