(CNN) –– The Met Gala has been a night of style, glamour, lots of pearls and…baby news on the way.
In elegant outfits, world tennis champion Serena Williams and model and businesswoman Karlie Kloss walked the red carpet at the Met Gala in New York City on Monday showing off their pregnancies.
“There are three of us here,” Williams told Lala Anthony during the magazine’s “red” carpet live broadcast. Vogue. The tennis star added: “I’m fine, I feel good now.” She also shared her relief that her secret was out. “I can stop hiding now,” she added.
Williams married husband Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans in 2017 and they have another daughter together, 5-year-old Olympia Ohanian.
Increasing the size of her family was always the plan for Williams, who shared in a 2022 essay for Vogue that he planned to add new members as he “evolved away from tennis”.
It seems that moment has come almost a year after his last tennis match.
For her part, Kloss, who has a son with her husband Joshua Kushner, told Emma Chamberlain of Vogue: “I’m very happy. This is the first time I share the news. So it’s very special.”

Chamberlain, one of the hostesses of the broadcast of the “red” carpet of Vogue, joked that Kloss was the “only one who was able to sneak a baby” into the gala, which is notoriously an invite-only event where no extra people are allowed. Kloss, a Met Gala veteran, knows this to be true and she quipped to Chamberlain: “I know, I have a plus one. Do not tell anybody!”
The model wore a fitted black dress by Loewe embellished with draped strands of pearls.
Kushner, brother of former White House adviser Jared Kushner, and Kloss married in 2018 and welcomed their son in March 2021.
The theme of the 2023 Met Gala is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” honoring the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld and his work with major fashion brands Chanel and Fendi.
