(CNN Spanish) — Five months after the announcement of their separation, the Colombian singer Shakira and the soccer player Gerard Piqué reached an agreement on the custody of their children Milan and Sasha.
“Milan and Sasha will leave Barcelona, where they have lived for the last eight years, to go live in Miami” with their mother, sources close to the artist confirm to CNN.
In this way, “both parties prioritize the well-being of their children and will facilitate the singer’s artistic career in this location,” add the same sources. “In addition, the singer already has a second residence in Miami and it is where her maternal family has been living in recent years,” they point out to CNN.
According to these sources consulted by CNN, the artist and her children are expected to move to their new place of residence in Florida at some point in 2023.
According to a document provided by the artist’s public relations agency to CNN, this agreement on the custody of the children “will be ratified in court, as part of a merely formal procedure.” The sources consulted by CNN affirm that this will happen in the coming days.
