Shannon Sharpe says Draymond Green, Jordan Poole AND the Warriors will be irreparably fractured following the pair’s fight… as he agrees with Kevin Durant that it isn’t normal locker room behavior
Shannon Sharpe has praised Kevin Durant’s assessment of the Draymond Green fallout, before suggesting the relationship between Green and teammate Jordan Poole is beyond repair.
Not only will it affect the once-close duo, but Sharpe believes it will irreparably fracture the Golden State locker room.
The Undisputed star’s comments come after Kevin Durant dispelled the myth that incidents like the Green sucker-punch happen frequently inside NBA walls.
Shannon Sharpe believes there is no coming back from the Green punch for anyone involved
‘I heard people say that that happens a lot in the NBA. I had never seen nothing like that before,’ Durant told reporters Thursday in Milwaukee.
Sharpe was eager to reiterate Durant’s perspective, having spent 14 years inside NFL locker rooms.
‘Thank you KD! People wanna make it seem like people in locker rooms punch each other all the time… guys don’t go around punching guys,’ Sharpe told co-analyst Skip Bayless, Friday on FS1’s Undisputed.
‘It’s a different ball game when guys punch each other, trust me. That relationship is not repairable.’
Kevin Durant was previously a teammate of Green’s and was known to have friction with No. 23
While not being privy to the inside of an NBA locker room, Sharpe played in the NFL between 1990-2003 with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens, before returning to Mile High to end his Hall of Fame career.
‘I know what Draymond says… but that relationship will never be the same,’ Sharpe continued. ‘The dynamic of that locker room won’t be the same.
‘I’ve been in locker rooms where guys [are] fighting and it’s not the same…because you know why? You have to choose. You roll with him or you roll with him. Ain’t no neutral, ain’t no Switzerland, it’s as simple as that… Anybody who tells you otherwise is lying.
The Warriors are looking to win back-to-back NBA titles despite the enormous controversy
‘Something of this magnitude, man, if they can repair this I’m going to have to say Steph is one of the five best leaders in NBA history.’
Green was not suspended for punching Poole at a recent Warriors practice but did receive a fine.
He is expected to suit up for the Warriors Friday night in their final preseason game before taking on the Lakers in the defending champion’s regular season opener Tuesday.
