ESPN has parted ways with commentator Shannon Sharpe, according to a report from Andrew Marchand of The Athletic. The decision follows the recent settlement of a sexual assault lawsuit filed against the Hall of Famer.
The settlement was announced by the accuser’s attorney earlier in July.
Sharpe, a featured personality on the network’s First Take program, has been off the air since April. Despite strongly denying the allegations and previously stating his intent to return to the show, his tenure at ESPN has now concluded.
