The Egyptian Medicines Authority is currently studying the necessary procedures to register two new anti-Corona vaccines for emergency use, the first by “AstraZeneca” and the second by the Russian “Sputnik V”.

Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, spokesperson for the Medicines Authority, said in statements to Egyptian media that the authority is still studying the vaccine file for the “AstraZenikia” company, and once the necessary papers and requirements are met, it will issue a decision approving its emergency use.
Al-Ghamrawi added that the authority is also studying the Russian vaccine file, “Sputnik V,” to register it locally, to make it available to the Egyptians for vaccination, along with “AstraZeneca” and the Chinese “Sinopharm”, which officially obtained emergency use and began vaccination with it.
And Dr. Mohamed Hassani, Assistant Minister of Health for Initiatives, and a member of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona, revealed in press statements earlier, that a study of new clinical research is being conducted on the Russian anti-corona virus vaccine in Egypt during the coming period.
At the same time, the Russian embassy in Egypt announced that Moscow was ready to supply Egypt with the Russian vaccine, “Sputnik V”, and to provide the technology for its manufacture to Cairo if it agreed to that.
