Disturbing CCTV footage has emerged of a gutsy young schoolboy chasing down a much larger, older man at a train station in Sydney’s west.
Witnesses say the brave young teenager had been approached by the man near the Wentworthville train station about 1.30pm on Monday.
CCTV footage reveals the small teenager dressed in a white T-shirt with a school backpack and dark shorts, throwing a glass frame at the adult man’s back in a shopping arcade near the station.
The man then starts running as the young boy gives chase through the passageway, calling for help from passersby as he went, Nine News reported.
Startled merchants could be seen emerging from their shops in the arcade as the young teenager gave chase.
The man, carrying his slippers in his hand, ran towards a taxi parked next to the station to make his getaway, jumping into the passenger side.
The determined youngster ran after him, repeatedly pulling the passenger door open to stop the taxi from leaving.
A passerby then helped the boy by calling 000.

It is as yet unknown what occurred to cause the young boy to chase the adult man.
However police cordoned off a grotty public toilet block near Wentworthville Station on Monday and were later seen inside photographing evidence.
The man being chased in the CCTV footage appeared to be of South Asian appearance, dressed in a neutral green long-sleeved shirt with ‘Dakota’ on the front and wearing dark blue jeans.
He was arrested an hour later and taken in for questioning.
NSW Police had no further details on Monday night and said the man had not been charged with any offense.
