Shocking moment elderly woman in Kosovo care home is SLAPPED repeatedly by nurse [VIDEO]

This is the shocking moment an elderly woman in a care home in Kosovo was slapped repeatedly by a nurse.

In the footage shared on social media, the worker at Orenda residence for the elderly, in Peje, holds the woman’s hands and slaps her several times.

There are two other women seen in the video and another is filming it – who is heard laughing loudly as her colleague assaults the elderly woman.  

The nurse is heard saying ‘just a tiny slap, as I know, a tiny kick’, according to Albanian Daily News.

The elderly woman appears to be in severe distress as she is assaulted by the employee.

Following the incident, the nurse and a housekeeper were arrested. The housekeeper was arrested for not reporting the assault to the police.

In a statement, Kosovo Police said that based on the recording circulating social media, officers identified the location at around 2.10pm yesterday and arrested two suspects.

They said: ‘The suspects are being interviewed by the investigators of the police station in Peje and further actions will be taken in full coordination with the state prosecutor.’

Reacting to the incident, Xhelal Svecla, the interior minister of Kosovo, said the actions were even more serious when they occur in an environment that should offer help and care.

Mr Svecla called for all those involved to be brought to justice.
