This was reported by a spokesperson for the Russian video service Start. The director, Klim Sibenko, said that Alexander Petrov, who played the main role in his previous film “The Text”, was more appropriate than any other actor to play the role of the great sentimental Russian poet. “Petrov, according to the director, is also able to convey to the cinematic screen the sense of the near death that the poet faced, his suffering and pain.”

It is noteworthy that the dramatic film “December” is produced by the Russian Yellow, Black and White workshop and the Start Video Service with the support of the Russian Film Foundation.
The film tells the story of the love between the German poet and dancer, Isidora Duncan, who arrived in Leningrad (now Petersburg) to help Sergey Yesenin escape from the Soviet Union. The poet left Moscow to meet his beloved in Leningrad, where he faced many problems that prevented him from meeting the dancer, which led to his suicide on December 28, 1925 in a Leningrad hotel.
The film is expected to be shown in Russia at the end of 2021 or early 2022.
