Multiple people were shot at a Tulsa medical building on a hospital campus Wednesday and “some were sadly killed,” police Capt. Richard Meulenberg said.
Meulenberg also said that the suspect in the shooting “was shot down” and that several people were injured and that “some unfortunately died.”
Local media They report that the number of dead, for the moment, is five, including the aggressor.
Through a publication on their social networks, the Tulsa police announced that their officers were on the scene “reviewing all the rooms in the building for additional threats,” also adding that they were aware of “multiple potential victims.”
St. Francis Health System closed its campus Wednesday afternoon due to the situation at the Natalie Medical Building which houses an ambulatory surgery center and a breast health center.
Aerial footage from a television helicopter appeared to show relief teams carrying someone on a stretcher from the hospital.
Dozens of police cars could be seen outside the hospital complex, and authorities shut down traffic as the investigation progressed.
In a communiqué Posted on their official Twitter account, the police indicated that a reunification center was set up at a nearby high school so that families can find their loved ones.
Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were also at the scene, a spokesman said.
