“Everyone sympathizes with Syria as a state and people, and that Egypt welcomes the Syrians in Egypt, and this is something we all cherish,” Shoukry said.
Regarding the demands of the members of the House of Representatives to restore relations with Syria, Shukri said, “The matter is some complexity, and we hope that Syria will return to its Arab environment.”
He pointed out that “the disasters that the Syrian people have been subjected to, their displacement outside Syria, and the interactions of international policies put restrictions on the regional movement towards Syria.”
He stressed that we are looking forward to the return of Syria to its Arab surroundings and to return again to assume the position that we all cherish.
