Investing Show: Should investors worry about political upheaval?

By This Is Money

Published: 13:25 BST, 5 December 2016 | Updated: 13:26 BST, 5 December 2016

It’s been a year of political upheaval and for investors that has meant plenty to think about – but how worried should they be?

The political order is facing a shake-up in the wake of the Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s election in the US, meanwhile an Italian referendum and other votes across Europe also loom large.

Henrietta Grimston, of Seven Investment Management, explains how investors can position themselves for big political and economic events and looks at how deeply they need to consider them.

She joins Simon Lambert, of This is Money, Richard Hunter, of Wilson King IM, and Nick Batsford, of TipTV, in the studio as they discuss the news that matters to investors and get ideas for them to make more of their money.

Also up for discussion on this fortnight’s show, is the market’s view that a US rate rise almost certain this month, the threat of inflation and a charting signal that says markets may fall.
