A video captured before the team boarded their bus shows Gill stopping to greet Sharma’s parents. He is seen embracing Sharma’s mother before touching his father’s feet in a traditional sign of respect. In a touching response, Sharma’s father affectionately kisses Gill on the forehead and pulls him into a hug.
This off-field moment comes as India trails Australia 0-1 in their current five-match T20I series. The first match in Canberra was abandoned due to rain, while Australia secured a four-wicket victory in the second encounter at the MCG.
