Sir Michael Gambon is being sued for allegedly running over a cyclist’s foot with his two-ton Land Rover and causing him lasting ‘travel anxiety’, it emerged last night.

The 80-year-old Harry Potter star is facing a £55,000 lawsuit from solicitor Toby Clouston, who claims to have sustained a broken ankle and enduring tissue damage.

Mr Clouston, 39, said the actor also inflicted psychological scars after driving over his right ankle as he perched on a bicycle outside his home in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, in April 2017.

The solicitor claims he had to holler after Sir Michael, who he says was oblivious to the collision and carried on his journey.

Mr Clouston’s lawyer Tom Collins has now filed legal papers with Central London county court.

They state that ‘as a result [of the collision] he fell to his left with the bicycle between his legs and into a parked car,’ according to the Sun.

Mr Clouston, legal counsel at aviation firm Aerfin, claims he still struggles with standing up and working out, while worrying about motorists when cycling – a condition he fears is ‘likely to be permanent’.

He claims Sir Michael had made an ‘admission of liability’ by way of his insurers, but the court heard the insurers have challenged Mr Clouston’s version of events and are gearing up to draft medical experts to scrutinise his claims.

Mr Clouston joined Aerfin in June 2016 after working for a ‘top tier’ London-based law firm, according to the company’s website.

The case continues.
