The Chicago Sky sustained a lopsided 95-57 loss to the Seattle Storm, marking the team’s fourth consecutive defeat.
This recent slump for Chicago began before the WNBA All-Star break, with previous losses to the Minnesota Lynx and the Atlanta Dream. The Sky faced the Storm without one of their key players, Angel Reese, who has been sidelined with leg and back injuries.
In Reese’s absence, center Kamilla Cardoso has emerged as a consistent bright spot for the team. Despite the blowout loss, Cardoso delivered a standout performance against Seattle, finishing with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.
In recognition of her efforts, the Sky named Cardoso the Player of the Game for the second straight contest. She earned the same honor in the team’s previous matchup against the Lynx, where she recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Throughout her second WNBA season, Cardoso is averaging 12.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Her continued development, alongside Reese, represents a promising young core for Chicago’s future.
