An informed source told “Bloomberg” that the European Union may reject requests to supply the vaccines of the British-Swedish company “AstraZeneca” produced in the territories of the bloc to the United Kingdom.
A source in Brussels said, in an interview with the agency, that the European Union will carefully study all these requests by Britain until the producing party fulfills all its obligations regarding the supply of the vaccine to the countries of the bloc.
The same source added that the vaccine production plant in the Netherlands has not yet received large orders to supply to the United Kingdom, but if they are obtained, they are likely to be rejected.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, had previously threatened, in an interview with the newspaper “Funke”, on March 20, the “AstraZeneca” company to impose a ban on importing its vaccines from the European Union in response to the reduction in the volume of vaccine imports to the countries of the bloc.
