Informed sources reported to the “New Somalia” website that 10 people, most of them from the fighting forces, were killed and others injured, following violent clashes between members of the government forces in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

According to eyewitnesses, the website stated that the two parties used various types of light and heavy weapons during the clashes that lasted two hours, as the site indicated that the cause of the conflict was due to a dispute over the ownership of land in the district.
The governor of Banadir region, the mayor of the capital Mogadishu, Omar Mohamed Mahmoud Finch, and military officials intervened to stop the ongoing fighting between government forces.
The site also revealed, according to informed sources, that the two parties to the conflict involved in the fighting in which the war vehicles participated, are two army officers.
No official sources have reported losses resulting from the fighting so far.
