Informed sources reported that the American health authorities are preparing to compel all those arriving by air to the lands of the United States to submit medical examinations before boarding the plane, showing that they are not infected with the Coronavirus.
Reuters and the Wall Street Journal quoted their sources as saying that the director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Robert Redfield, will sign an order on Tuesday to expand the requirements for examinations to include all arrivals from outside the country on international airline flights, including American citizens.
The new rules are expected to take effect two weeks after the order was signed, that is, on January 26.
This comes after the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had asked President Donald Trump’s administration, for several weeks, to expand restrictions aimed at containing the virus.
Previously, this measure was taken against those coming from Britain against the background of the spread of a new strain of the virus in the United Kingdom that is considered more transmissible.
