The Los Angeles Sparks (9-14) will look to extend their recent winning streak when they face the Connecticut Sun (3-19) on Thursday night at Mohegan Sun Arena.
After a challenging 6-14 start to the season, the Sparks have turned their performance around, securing three consecutive victories. Their latest was a 93-86 road win over the Washington Mystics, fueled by a dominant performance from Dearica Hamby, who posted 24 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Rickea Jackson also added 22 points as the team shot an efficient 51.5% from the field.
For the Sun, this game marks the start of the second half of what has been one of the franchise’s most difficult seasons. The team’s offense is led by veteran Tina Charles, who is averaging 15.6 points per game, and Marina Mabrey, who contributes 15.2 points and four assists.
In their first meeting this season, the Sparks defeated the Sun 92-88. The teams will play once more in Los Angeles on August 7.
