The president of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has tested positive for COVID-19, the day after participating without a mask in an act at the White House with President Joe Biden.
Pelosi is asymptomatic at the moment, her spokesman Drew Hammill tweeted, noting that the California state legislator had tested negative days earlier.
“The president [de la Cámara Baja] He has had his shots and booster shots and appreciates the strong protection the shot has given him,” Hammill said.
Pelosi “will observe the quarantine in accordance with the guidance of the health authorities and urges everyone to receive the vaccine, the reinforcement and to undergo the test periodically,” he added.
The announcement a few days before Congress begins its spring recess next week.
