Disney World’s Splash Mountain boat sinks underwater in viral video
A park guest posted a video of a log flume boat sinking under water at Disney World’s Splash Mountain.
Pretty Ricky’s Spectacular Smith was arrested at Disney World after an alleged altercation with a theme park employee.
In a police report obtained by USA TODAY, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the Nov. 29 arrest, listing the offense as a misdemeanor battery charge.
According to the report, Smith “intentionally touched or struck” a worker at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom theme park after a verbal altercation over Smith being removed from a line due to jokes about COVID-19.
“Smith walked past (the worker), simulated sneezing, while saying the word, ‘Coronavirus’ as he and a companion walked towards the ride,” the arresting officer’s report reads. “(The worker) told Smith what he said was not funny. (The worker) said Smith replied, ‘I thought it was.’ “
The worker reportedly asked Smith to leave the line multiple times, and he refused.
At one point, Smith allegedly “turned and punched (the worker) on his right side jaw and right temple area,” which the worker said caused him to stumble and fall on the ground.
“He was in shock and thought he might’ve lost consciousness,” the report states.
USA TODAY has reached out to Pretty Ricky’s rep for comment.
There were multiple witnesses present who also gave statements to police. One witness overheard the verbal argument and others said they saw Smith use his right hand to punch the worker.
Smith’s son, Makhiari Lorick, was another witness. He told police his dad accidentally punched the worker as his dad lost his balance falling to the ground.
Following the alleged incident, the worker was taken to Horizon West Hospital, where he underwent a CT scan before a doctor diagnosed him with a concussion, contusion and bruising to his head.
In addition to his work with the hip hop group Pretty Ricky, Smith is also know for appearing on the television series “Love & Hip Hop: Miami.”
Disney World’s Florida theme parks closed March 15 at the start of the pandemic but eventually reopened July 11 after reopenings for Universal Orlando and SeaWorld, which reopened in June.
Visitors are required to wear masks and maintain social distance. Some attractions and events remain closed and attendance at parks is capped.
