Der Spiegel magazine said that the new Corona virus epidemic has become a disaster for African countries, but it has represented an impetus for them to develop health care systems.
The German magazine quoted a regional expert at the World Health Organization that African countries were faster than Europe in designing, applying and using innovative technologies directed to combat and prevent the spread of the epidemic.
The World Health Organization found that among a thousand new or used technological solutions to combat the Coronavirus, there are about 120 African women.
Among these solutions are a special WhatsApp internet bot, contact-tracking apps, and means for self-diagnosis.
Mordric Chibi, an expert in health innovation at the African Office of the World Health Organization, believes that Africa was at the forefront in using some applications to combat the Corona virus, for example, Ghana began using such an application in April while Germany in June.
In Zimbabwe, to prevent crossing the border with forged documents on the negative test about the Corona virus, a group of young developers quickly digitized the verification process, since since spring, the results of the Corona virus test are verified via a QR code in a special application.
