The academic year began in a number of public schools in Lebanon in light of the many challenges facing the educational sector.
The Israeli bombing prevented the opening of schools in many areas of the south, the Bekaa, and Beirut, and other schools turned into shelter centers for thousands of displaced people.
Al Jazeera kept up with the situation in schools in the Bekaa, eastern Lebanon, with the start of the first day of the new school year.
