State gun public sale raises over $100,000 for native police departments

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – After being postponed due to the pandemic, the annual gun public sale held by the West Virginia Treasurer’s workplace has been introduced again.

Officers held the public sale Thursday morning, and it lasted for almost all of the enterprise day. There have been greater than 600 firearms up for public sale.

“We public sale off for them, after which the proceeds of that public sale go immediately again to them,” Riley Moore, the West Virginia State Treasurer stated.

Treasurer Riley Moore says permitting the cash to return to the departments provides an additional cushion of assist.

“Oh it helps us a ton, it helps us purchase gear that we’d in any other case be unable to buy,” Ravenswood Police Chief Lance Morrison stated.

Chief Morrison stated the division will be capable to purchase officer security gear and radios.

Officers inform WSAZ that Thursday public sale raised a complete of $139,790.
