(Trends Wide) — Former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham, who worked for Donald Trump for more than five years, now says she fears another four years with Trump in the White House.
“I’m terrified that she will run for president in 2024,” said Grisham, who also served as the east wing general secretary. This Monday, in a preview of his interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” in a promotional appearance for his memoir “I’ll Take Your Questions Now,” which is scheduled to be released this week, Grisham said: “I don’t think that [Trump] be fit for work. “
Grisham’s take on the former president’s suitability for the job came when George Stephanopoulos asked her if she herself contributed to the White House’s “culture of casual dishonesty, to which Grisham replied,” Yes.
“Now I want, as much as I can, to educate the public about behaviors within the White House, because it looks like he will run in 2024,” Grisham said.
Grisham said a second term for Trump, in his view, would mean a president driven by “revenge” from his political adversaries.
“He will probably have some pretty draconian policies,” he added, noting that another presidential term would mean less concern about reelection and more emboldened opportunities to present a policy shaped by Trump’s base.
When asked why he was running now, after so many years being loyal to Trump, Grisham said he changed his mind after spending time working in the west wing.
“I think it gave a voice to a lot of people who felt forgotten, but I think a lot of us, including myself, walked into the White House and got intoxicated with power,” Grisham said. “We no longer thought about serving the country, it was about surviving.”

As Melania Trump’s former secretary general, Grisham also spoke about the former first lady, including the mocking nickname, “Rapunzel,” that the Secret Service gave Melania Trump in response to her rarely leaving the private White House residence. .
“He didn’t like going out. He stayed upstairs a lot,” said Grisham, who in the book writes about the first lady’s domestic life.
In a statement to Trends Wide, Melania Trump’s spokeswoman dismissed Grisham, saying: “The author is desperately trying to rehabilitate her tarnished reputation by manipulating and distorting the truth about Ms. Trump. Grisham is a troubled and deceptive person who does not deserves no one’s trust. ”
