Steve Clifford has been a great addition to Brooklyn Nets coaching staff. The veteran coach has joined the New York franchise as a technical consultant, an occupation that has been explained in statements collected by Ernie Clark from the Bangor Daily News.
“I will be here (Brooklyn) for a long time this month and during training camp, and I will be more of a resource. I will watch a lot of videos, but most of the time I will still live in Orlando. I will visit the team once or twice a month and only receive direct instructions from Steve Nash, whatever he wants me to do, ”he says.
After years managing the Magic, a team he led to the playoffs for two consecutive seasons before last season’s 21-51, Clifford is now immersed in a project whose only goal is to get the ring. As is normal, he is intrigued by all that he may experience over the next few months.
“That part is definitely exciting. We have been meeting here all week and I really enjoyed it. I know some of the guys on the team staff, so I think it’s a good role for me. It will be a good learning experience and obviously we have a roster excellent, so especially if we can stay healthy, I think it can be a fun year, “he concludes.
