Hence, part of the strategy of the STPS, through the CITI, proposes: Promote a culture of prevention and eradication of child labor and protection of adolescent workers of legal age for the public, private and social sectors; protect the human and labor rights of adolescent workers of legal age; strengthen oversight bodies and mechanisms to combat child labor and its worst forms; promote social protection for the benefit of children and adolescents and strengthen the components of education and recreation as rights of children and adolescents against child labor.
Likewise, he highlighted that the Work Plan is a proposal from the CITI to articulate the dependencies and entities that are members and permanent guests, to promote and strengthen the mechanisms and actions for the prevention and eradication of child labor, as well as to protect adolescents. workers of legal age to work.
The Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare, Luisa Maria Mayor Lujan, in her capacity as President of the CITI, pointed out that the starting point is the recognition that there is still much to do and, therefore, “we have to redouble efforts until no girl, boy or adolescent is forced to work anymore. drop out of school and their recreation time.”
Mayor Luján reiterated the commitment of the Government of Mexico translated into actions to prevent and eradicate child labor in our country, as well as the protection of adolescents of legal age to work.
The work strategy is made up of proposals that include actions established, mainly, by dependencies and institutions of the Federal Public Administration within their sectoral, special or institutional programs; with the purpose that the members and permanent guests of the CITI, through their faculties and wills, participate with both the objective of the CITI and the work plan.
It should be remembered that the 2021-2024 Work Plan was presented at the twenty-ninth ordinary session that took place on Friday, December 17, 2021, for approval by its members and permanent guests.
