Gareth Bale, the former Spanish football team star for Real Madrid, is trying to convince the new English Merengue star, Jude Bellingham, not to repeat the same mistakes he made and paid dearly for at the Royal Club.
Welshman Gareth Bale was a key player and contributed to winning 4 Champions League titles, scoring goals in 3 finals, but he does not hide that he faced problems during his time at the Bernabéu that were related to his dealings with the Spanish media.
Bale wants Bellingham not to make the same mistakes that the Welshman was punished for during his long and successful spell in Madrid, where Bale had no problem communicating with his team-mates but kept his public appearances in front of the media to a minimum.

Bale advised Billingham, “The biggest advice is to play like Real Madrid. Do what the media wants. You will have to talk to them. You are basically a puppet. You will take a lot of beating. I have seen many stars who behaved that way.”
He added, “I behaved like this, doing what the press wanted. Maybe that was my problem, because I didn’t want to do that. I just wanted to play football and go home. This made things difficult for me and made them attack me.”
“What you have to do is talk after the matches, and make sure to speak Spanish,” Bale concluded.
Bale was Real Madrid’s first signing to exceed the €100 million mark. However, his sporting impact was immediate, because in his first season, 2013-2014, he was decisive in winning two titles, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, scoring the goals that gave them the advantage in the finals against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

But because of his problems, Bale’s last seasons with Real Madrid were disappointing for all parties, and he left the Royal Club in June 2022, before announcing his retirement with the American club Los Angeles FC in January 2023.
