The Department of Combating Organized Crime in Sudan managed to dismantle a network of 3 suspects working on trafficking and human smuggling after storming a house in Khartoum and liberating 18 girls from one of the neighboring countries.
The director of the department, Brigadier General of Police, Yasser Mudawi and Qa’i Allah, said, “Information received by the department is to monitor the organized activity of a criminal network, and that it is taking from a house in one of the peripheral neighborhoods in Khartoum State as its headquarters for its activities.
He added, “As soon as the information was received, a field team was formed and the house was raided and 18 girls were released from the victims inside one of the rooms of the house, and they appeared to be very tired due to hunger and deprivation.”
He continued: “The security forces arrested one of the accused, which indicated the other accused, as they were also arrested.”
He explained: “The main accused in the case receives the victims, arranges their residency, and then travels them abroad in coordination with a criminal network in Addis Ababa consisting of 5 people who facilitate the passage of victims into the country in exchange for certain sums of money, and it has been found that he runs a cafe in one of the high-end neighborhoods in Khartoum and uses it as a cover for his criminal activity.” “.
He stressed that legal measures have been taken against the accused, provided that all those involved are brought to justice.
