The Sultanate of Oman was forced to make changes to its plans to vaccinate citizens against the emerging corona virus, due to disruptions in the supply of the vaccine produced by the American “Pfizer” and the German “Biontech” company.
In a statement issued today, Wednesday, the Omani Ministry of Health confirmed that the date of administering the second dose of the vaccine was postponed to those who received the first dose due to the delay of the manufacturer in supplying the agreed doses to the Sultanate.
The ministry indicated that this delay affects all contracting countries with “Pfizer” and “Biontech”, due to plans to expand production lines for the vaccine against the backdrop of increased demand for it.
The Ministry pointed out that this delay will not affect the desired effectiveness of the vaccine, according to the data of scientific sources and international organizations.
