The Argentina national football team defeated its host Bolivia 3-0 in the early hours of Friday morning, at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires, as part of the tenth round of South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
Argentina ended the first half with a clean goal, scored by star Lionel Messi in the 14th minute of the match, with a wonderful shot to the right of the Bolivian goalkeeper.
In the second half, Messi added the second goal of the Tango team in the 64th minute of the meeting, after a wonderful game with his colleague Lautaro Martinez, which Al-Barghout ended in the net.
The Paris star returned to score Argentina’s third “hat-trick”, in the 88th minute of the match, reaching his 79th goal with Argentina and becoming the historical top scorer for South America, surpassing former Brazilian star Pele’s number of 77 goals.
The Argentine national team consolidated its second position in the standings of the South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with 18 points, behind the leaders Brazil with 21 points, and is currently playing with its Peruvian team.
