The new cash denomination in Syria (5,000 pounds) carried a number of pictures and symbols, the most prominent of which was the image of the Syrian soldier on the front face
The new category carried on its front side a picture of a Syrian soldier saluting the flag of the republic, and the back side contains a mural from the Syrian city of Palmyra dating back to the second century AD, representing the Temple of Baal Shamin (the sun with punishment and an olive branch).
Punishment is Syria’s official slogan.

It is noteworthy that the two cards in the two categories that were the highest in the country (one thousand pounds, then two thousand pounds) carried the two main images: the late Hafez al-Assad and the current Bashar al-Assad.
