A bulletin of the Handicraft Society of Goldsmiths and Jewelry Making in the Syrian capital, Damascus, revealed a rise in gold prices, and this comes at a time when the yellow metal is witnessing a rise in global markets.
The price of 21-carat gold rose by 5000 Syrian pounds, to record the sale of one gram as 183 thousand Syrian pounds, according to what was reported by Al-Watan newspaper on the association’s bulletin.
The rise coincided with the rise in precious metal prices in the global market, hovering near its highest level in a week.
Gold rose in spot transactions today to $ 1808.15 an ounce, after reaching its highest level since February 16th at $ 1815.63 on Tuesday.
