This came in a statement carried by the official Syrian News Agency, saying: “The Central Bank of Syria denied all rumors about preparations for the launch of a new 10,000 Syrian Pounds banknote,” indicating that “all rumors in this regard are totally unfounded and their aim is to undermine confidence in the national currency. It is in the interest of the speculators. “
The bank emphasized that “issuing the denominations is based on studying the reality of the national economy and its requirements from the monetary side, in line with the growth of local production, through its follow-up to the markets and securing the trading needs of all denominations of banknotes.”
The bank called on citizens, according to what the agency reported, “to be wary of rumors targeting their savings, whether those broadcast on social media pages or some analysts who claim expertise, calling on the media to rely on everything related to monetary policy and its procedures only on the official website of the Central Bank of Syria and the means The bank’s social communication. “
