The head of the Syrian Peasants Union, Ahmed Saleh Ibrahim, revealed to “Al-Watan” newspaper that there is fear about the fate of the wheat season for the current year, of which a large part depends on watering.
The newspaper quoted the Syrian official as saying that the fear stemmed from the lack of rain and the lack of diesel fuel. He said that things today are undoubtedly not in the best condition in terms of securing fuel, especially diesel, which is necessary and essential.
He added that “the grain sector needs every liter of diesel so that the wheat crop will not be damaged at this time, because the crops must be irrigated because the rains did not fall during the period, and we have asked the government to secure fuel.”
