On the occasion of Russia’s celebration of “Homeland Protectors”, a party was organized at the Russian Hmeimim base in Syria, in which Syrian children participated and sang songs in the Russian language.
During the ceremony, a Syrian schoolgirl sang a Russian-language song, impressed the attendees with her mastery of the language and her performance of the song.
Syrian children congratulated the Russian soldiers on the occasion of the “Day of the Homeland Defenders”, which falls on February 23 of each year, and dates back to 1922.
This holiday is considered an occasion to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives on the battlefields in defense of the homeland, during which the Russians hold various festive activities in honor and respect of veterans.
