The Minnesota Timberwolves have made their team option for the 2022-23 season effective on contracts rookies Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels, the Minneapolis franchise reported.
Edwards, No. 1 in the 2020 Draft, averaged 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 72 official games (55 as a starter) last year. In voting for the Rookie of the Year award, he finished second to Charlotte Hornets’ LaMelo Ball.
For his part, McDaniels arrived through the 28th pick of the same draft, but via transfer from Oklahoma City Thunder. In 63 official games he had 6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 24 minutes.
