The Players Association (NBPA) has a new executive director. Tamika Tremaglio, a doctorate in law and a graduate in business administration, will become the replacement for Michele Roberts, who has decided to leave her post after seven years at the helm. This will not, of course, be her first job in the world of basketball, as she has served as a consultant for the NBA since 2012 and assisted the WNBA players in negotiating their collective bargaining agreement in 2019.
Tremaglio’s election is the first major decision by CJ McCollum, who was named president of the NBPA just over a month ago. The Blazers had several options, including former player Malik Rose, but assures that the help offered by Tamika in recent years has been key in his choice.
“He has been by our side for a long time, giving us advice on the different practices and policies that we needed to be a successful organization,” said the bodyguard. “Following Michele’s strong leadership, which has brought us to where we are now, we needed a new generation leader, with the skills, vision and credibility necessary to take the organization where Michele has left it and take it even higher.”
