Taylor Swift criticizes Ticketmaster for failed ticket sales for her The Eras Tour

American pop star Taylor Swift criticized the Ticketmaster network on Friday for failing ticket sales for his upcoming tour, saying it was “unbearable” to know that thousands of his fans had struggled to buy them.

Tickets for the singer’s “The Eras Tour” were supposed to go on sale Friday. But after days of glitches and long waits for those trying to purchase pre-sale advance tickets, the public sale was abruptly canceled on Thursday.

“It’s really hard for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and it’s excruciating for me to watch mistakes happen without any recourse,” Swift wrote on Instagram.

Without directly naming TicketmasterSwift said she and her team had asked them “multiple times if they could handle this type of lawsuit and they assured us that they could.”

“It’s really amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that so many of them feel like they’ve been through several bear attacks to get them.”

Ticketmastera dominant force in the ticket distribution industry, blamed “extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory” for the cancellation of the sale to the public.

He cited a “staggering number of bot attacks” along with fans without presale codes trying to buy advance tickets, meaning his site saw 3.5 billion system requests, they said, four times the company’s previous peak.

It was not immediately clear if the sale would be rescheduled or how many tickets remained unsold. Ticketmaster did not respond to a request for clarification from AFP.
