The accounts of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) published a list of the teams that scored 100 goals or more in the Cup of Nations and entered the history of the continental tournament in its broad chapter.
Over the course of the previous 33 editions, five teams were able to surpass the 100-goal barrier, while others were on the verge of it or approached it.
Ivory Coast will host the 34th edition of the African Football Festival from January 13 to February 11.

Egypt is at the top
The Egyptian national team tops the list of those who have scored the most goals in the history of the African Cup of Nations, with 168 goals throughout the history of its participation in the tournament.
Below is a list of the teams that exceeded 100 in their participation:
- Egypt national team: 168 goals in 107 matches (25 copies).
- Ivory Coast national team: 144 goals in 99 matches (24 copies).
- Nigeria national team: 137 goals in 97 matches (19 copies).
- Cameroon national team: 137 goals in 91 matches (20 copies).
- Ghana national team: 133 goals in 102 matches (23 copies).
The Tunisian national team is on the verge of achieving the 100th goal in the history of its participation, as it has 99 goals scored in 20 previous editions.
The Algerian national team needs 6 goals, as it scored 94 goals in 19 editions.
The opportunity also seems ripe for the Democratic Republic of the Congo national team, as it has 88 goals in its previous 19 participations in the continental championship.
