Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced on Sunday evening that his country will start vaccination against the emerging corona virus in January, asking his government to choose the “most appropriate vaccine.”
Tebboune said in a tweet: “I issued orders to the Prime Minister to immediately chair a meeting with the scientific committee in charge of following up the epidemiological situation to choose the most appropriate vaccine against the Covid 19 virus, to start the vaccination process, starting from January 2021.”
Prime Minister Abdelaziz Jarad recently confirmed that Algeria will receive the vaccine for the Covid-19 virus, which has adequate health guarantees, which calls for not being rushed and avoiding addressing this issue randomly.
And nearly 100,000 HIV infections have been recorded in Algeria since the first local case was detected on February 25, including 2,666 deaths, according to the latest toll published by the Ministry of Health on Sunday.
