The Iranian government spokesman, Ali Rabiei, confirmed that Tehran will suspend the implementation of the additional protocol from the nuclear agreement, on February 21, if the rest of the parties do not abide by their pledges and cancel the sanctions.
Ali Rabiei said, “There is no plan to negotiate with America, and any development in this area is dependent on its practical steps and the implementation of Resolution 2231.”
He continued: “The administration of the new US president, Joe Biden, should invest the available opportunity to build confidence, and return to Washington’s commitments in the nuclear agreement.”
He added, “The opportunity for America and European countries to return to the nuclear agreement and implement their obligations is now limited and will not remain forever.”
The Iranian government spokesman expressed his hope that “the Biden administration will take the necessary practical steps to prove good intentions and build confidence, before the situation worsens further.”
