Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Telegram app has announced the launch of updates to its services, including the automatic hiding of messages, the termination of invitations links through it, and unlimited chat groups.
Telegram updates come at a time when the application is witnessing a remarkable demand for its use recently, especially in light of the state of confusion due to the new privacy policy for WhatsApp, which Facebook announced to postpone until next May.
According to a post in the Telegram blog, activating the option to hide messages has become available to include various types of chatting through it instead of being limited to encrypted secret chats.
This feature provides the ability to automatically delete chats, with different options for the user to set the time for hiding messages, ranging from 1 to 7 days.
In an effort to add similar features to the Clubhouse voice chat app, Telegram announced the addition of the “broadcast groups” feature, so that only its managers can send messages, while members can still join voice chats.
The app expanded the range of group members to 200,000, so users can now convert groups close to this maximum into “broadcast groups” that allow unlimited joining.
Telegram has also added more animated emojis.
