The announced merger of the media conglomerates Televisa Y Univision has received all pending regulatory approvals, both companies reported Monday, which aspire to create the world’s leading Spanish-language company in the sector.
Televisa Group, the largest television network in Mexico, announced in April that it would combine most of its products with the American Univision to create a new media company in Spanish.
As reported last year, Televisa would contribute approximately $4.8 billion in content and Univision would contribute $3 billion in cash, $1.5 billion in own shares and $300 million from other sources.
