A Woolworths spokesperson revealed the ham had been gifted as a random act of kindness following a difficult year marred by raging bushfires, the coronavirus crisis and Australia’s first recession in 29 years which was prompted by the pandemic.
‘After a tough year, we’re really excited to help share the Christmas spirit with both our team and customers in our stores,’ the representative said.
‘In the lead up to Christmas, our store teams across the country have been looking for opportunities to surprise and delight our customers by sharing delicious food from our Christmas range.’
