Tetra Pak celebrates 30 years of operations in Querétaro; maintains expansion plans

Queretaro, Qro. Tetra Pak, a Swiss packaging manufacturer, celebrated 30 years of having started operations in corregidorametropolitan municipality of Queretarowhere it currently employs 500 collaborators and is in a growth phase.

The general director of Tetra Pak, Robert Graves, stressed that the plant is in the process of expansion, project in which they invest 500 million pesos.

Regarding this growth plan, in August 2022 the company announced that it plans to incorporate three new production lines: one for the cutting area and two for laminates.

The plant produces 11.3 billion containers per yearcapacity that will increase 13.3%, since with the expansion it is expected to reach 12.8 billion containers per year.

During the anniversary of the signing, the Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, compared that the entity shares with the company the commitment to environmentbecause in addition to using a waste management model, they are also working on reducing greenhouse gases, as well as favoring water care and using solar energy.

In commemoration of the three decades of Tetra Pak in the state, the head of Sedesu gave awards to the company’s collaborators.

According to information from Sedesu, the paper industry -which considers the production of cardboard containers- generated a value of 36,652 million pesos in 2022, that is, an increase of 20.5% at the annual rate. This same sector contributed 7.9% of manufacturing production.
