The amount of bonuses that employers will pay in Nuevo León will increase 16.4%: Coparmex

Monterrey, NL. This year the amount of bonuses that the employer sector will distribute among 1.8 million formal workers in Nuevo León, will have a double-digit growth rate for the second year, in 2022 it will be 16.4%, indicates an analysis by the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (coparmex) Nuevo León, with data from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

This under the assumption that they are delivered to the workers, as established in article 84 of the Federal Labor Lawat least 15 days of salary before next December 20.

The increase in the amount of the Christmas bonus in Nuevo León is due to the 11.2% increase in the value of the average daily salary of workers insured in the IMSS, and 4.6% in the number of registered workers.

By adding these variations and subtracting them from the total increase, Nuevo León is the second entity in the country, after Mexico City, that adds the largest amount of economic benefit by way of Christmas bonus.

Nationally, the increase in bonus amount This 2022 is also in double digits, with 15.6% per year, this derived from a salary increase of 11.1% and 4.1% in the number of registered workers.

Some of the states that this year will have the greatest increase in the Christmas bonus are: Tabasco (32.8%); Quintana Roo (27.2%); Baja California Sur (23.2%) and Hidalgo (20%), among others.

Cecilia Carrillo López, director of Coparmex Nuevo León, highlighted the high social responsibility of the employer sector in the state, so that this amount could be below the real one.

“We know that the bonus is a right, but it is also a benefit through which companies reward the productivity of their workers, hence I am sure that those 15 days (which the Law establishes) are below what the companies assign”, he added.

The economic dynamism of Nuevo León is due to high productivity, derived from the quality of human capital in the state, which has led to increases in wages and employment.

The board added that as long as Nuevo León maintains competitive conditions, it will be a magnet to attract more investment and create more employment opportunities.

“We need all economic agents, including the government and the political class, to work in the same direction: to improve the state’s competitive conditions, because this brings benefits not only to companies but also to the families of the entity,” he said.
